About Sentry
About SentrySoftware runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building. Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future.
About the role
New grads at Sentry write real code on real projects that ship to production. Engineers here get to solve a genuine range of technical problems: building fast, delightful UIs for navigating millions of errors and traces, and architecting solutions that ingest, store, and index terabytes of data every single day. As a Software Engineer, New Grad, you'll be coached by a diverse team of engineers, and you'll have a direct hand in a codebase that's complex, growing, and shipping constantly.
In this role you will
- Work across Product or Infrastructure Engineering, depending on team match
- Build with the stack your team uses: TypeScript, React, Python, and Django on the product side; Python, Rust, Kafka, ClickHouse, and Kubernetes on the infra side
- Own the full software development lifecycle, design, development, testing, and operating in production
- Communicate effectively with engineers on your team, engineers on other teams, and stakeholders like product managers
- Act on feedback, coaching, and mentorship from your manager and teammates
You’ll love this job if you
- Want to actively use the product you're building (we dogfood Sentry every day)
- Want to start your career at a fast‑paced startup, not spend it ramping slowly at a big one
- Want to join a modern software development team that iterates and ships code rapidly
- Want to help build Seer, Sentry’s AI agent that root‑causes bugs, writes fixes, and reviews PRs before they break prod
- Want your work to have a direct impact on how developers find and fix bugs, at massive scale
Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or similar degree program)
- At least 1 previous internship or equivalent practical experience
- Implementation skills with one or more general-purpose programming languages, e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.
- Good knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and object‑oriented design principles
- Experience working with version control and unit testing
Compensation
The base salary range (or hourly wage range, if applicable) that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $145,000 - $150,000. A successful candidate’s actual base salary (or hourly wage) amount will be determined by a variety of relevant factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s work location, education, work and other relevant experience, skills, and job‑related knowledge.
