Software Engineer - iOS Keyboard, Input ExperienceAre you passionate about helping people communicate all over the world? The iOS Keyboard is one of the most-used software applications in the world and is used to type billions of messages every day. We build the keyboard and text editing experience for iPhone & iPad, including features such as QuickType, QuickPath, AutoFill, Writing Tools etc. as well as text input technologies on all Apple platforms—iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS—including frameworks and developer APIs.

We are looking for a creative and hardworking software engineer to help craft the next generation of Keyboard and Text Input experiences that are intuitive, personal, and inclusive of people all over the world, across many different languages and cultures, all while respecting each user's privacy.DescriptionCollaborate with a world-class design team and hard-working engineers to innovate and deliver high-impact features that fuse best-in-class user interfaces with innovative machine learning technologies. You will be responsible for a combination of software design exploration, implementation, and maintenance of cross-platform frameworks and applications. You will develop production-quality software while working through iterative development cycles. You will partner with many teams at Apple to deliver best-in-class features such as Accessibility, Design, Hardware, Localization, Natural Language Processing, Privacy, etc.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of experience in building iOS apps using Apple's UI frameworksExperience with Objective-C, C, Swift, or C++ programmingExposure to modern software development standard methodologies, such as source control, unit testing, and debuggingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPassion to improve Apple's productsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in building iOS apps using Apple's UI frameworksPassion and experience for languages, internationalizationFamiliarity with software optimization and performance measurement toolsAbility to effectively contribute to several concurrent projectsAbility to thrive in a highly collaborative environmentPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
