This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and troubleshoots software and applications. Conducts system analysis and design, and provides technical leadership, training, and guidance to lower-level staff to support information technology business operations.Job ResponsibilitiesReviews application design specifications, codes new applications, and makes enhancements to existing applicationsDesigns and implements test plans, and prepares systems test dataDevelops, prepares, or modifies technical specifications for complex projects, system integrations, and upgradesConducts systems analysis, reviews and interprets system requirements, and develops detailed system design specifications for system integrations and upgradesReviews application modules for quality assurance and checks compliance with application architecture standardsConducts analysis for the evaluation and selection of vendor software solutions and packagesContributes to the development of data structure and systems performance strategiesDevelop documentation for sustainability of the code baseUnique ResponsibilitiesManage WordPress sites for both internal and external teams including regular maintenance, upgrades and feature enhancements.Engage with campus Web Hosting team as it pertains to WordPress website development and hosting.Required QualificationsDemonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHPIn-depth knowledge and experience with WordPress and the technologies and platforms that support it (e.g themes, plugins, Gutenberg editor, APIs, MySql, LAMP, etc)Experience working with Web Hosting Control Panels (Plesk/cPanel), GIT (version control systems), Secure FTP, etc.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingPreferred QualificationsExperience administering and troubleshooting WordPress sites and/or Multisite installationsExperience with React JavaScript framework (or similar framework/library)Knowledge of best practices and use of vendor plugins for WordPressUnderstanding or knowledge of AWSKnowledge of Foundation or other similar front-end development frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, Semantic UI, etc).Ability to manage projects from start to finish, including scoping, planning, and executionExperience with AWS cloud tools such as Route53 and CloudWatchBasic understanding digital marketing tools and concepts such as SEO, web analytics, and how they apply to websitesRequired Skills: Professional Engineer, Azure,.NET, Java, HTML.
