Software Engineer IIBosch is seeking Software Engineer II professionals to develop and support integrated Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
The role combines software engineering, HVAC controls, networking, systems integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.Key Responsibilities:Provide controls database, graphics, programming, etc. for contract sequences as provided by the Design Specialist, project specifications, or other applicable sourcesDevelop the software necessary for a comprehensive integrated building automation system or energy management systemDesign and implement integrated building automation and energy management solutions.Integrate third-party systems using protocols such as MQTT and RESTful APIs.Work with other building equipment suppliers to resolve issues as they arise.Develop project reports to measure building analytics and provide energy savings recommendationsSupport installation and startup personnel with adjustments to software as requiredSupport field teams with system data communication trouble shooting using protocol analyzers like WireShark® and Visual BACnet®As required, attend project coordination meetings and provide technical support Provide site specific customer training on projectsProvide information and support for other contractors on project siteDebug mechanical and installation issues that can come up when executing the static and dynamic start up and commissioning of building controlsDevelop branch standards for building management system software and client graphic user interface systemsDevelop enhancements to existing office standards to increase functionality and efficiencyProvide new product support and training to employee personnelProvide service support on existing systems ensuring proper and efficient operation as well as providing ongoing support to the facility's building engineersWork with the internal project design engineers and outside engineer consultant firms to resolve project design issues and suggest project enhancementsParticipate in the transition between Operations Team and Service TeamSupport the sales team during project bid and estimating process, including potential customer system demonstrationsMentor and train junior software engineers on products, software and processesComplete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely mannerRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, HVAC Controls, or a related field5 years of experience as a System Specialist, System Engineer, or similar HVAC Controls Engineering role.Applicants must have experience with Building systems, including:HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical systems or Electrical systemsHVAC control strategiesBMS (Building Management System) software programmingNetwork switch design and programmingBACnet and Modbus protocolsElectronic test equipment, including:Volt metersAmp metersOscilloscopesPreferred Qualifications:Field experience in a construction environment is an assetCertified in at least 1 building automation controls systems manufacturer, Niagara N4 preferred.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required.
