Software Engineer II - Engineering

Role overview

This role centers on building well-crafted software alongside a collaborative engineering team focused on code quality, modern architecture, and agile delivery. The engineer will help shape the foundation of a new platform that replaces legacy systems, contributing to tooling, infrastructure, and backend services that support small business financing operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain greenfield software built on a strong architectural foundation.
• Define architecture, technical patterns, and engineering practices for a new platform while integrating with legacy applications.
• Develop backend services primarily in Python, with emphasis on Flask.
• Build and integrate solutions using AWS services including Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• Maintain deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes, and manage infrastructure using OpenTofu or Terraform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on roadmap delivery, communicate progress, and surface risks within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and partner with technical leadership on scalable practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with deep Python expertise (Flask preferred).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• 2+ years of Salesforce experience.
• 3+ years building or maintaining deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with OpenTofu or Terraform and producing clean, well-documented code using modern practices.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a mentorship mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or lending.
• AWS certification.
