In this role, you will contribute to the development and sustainment of mission-critical software that delivers reliable PNT data to U.S. Navy surface ships.Main Functions of This RoleIn this role, you will contribute to the development, testing, and installation of mission-critical software components. This is an onsite role that offers strong mentorship, structured learning opportunities, and exposure to Agile development, DevSecOps processes, and CI/CD workflows.Develop and enhance software features under guidance from senior engineersAssist with debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software issuesContribute to automated tests and participate in CI/CD-driven build and integration processesSupport software design tasks, including documentation and interface definitionWork within an Agile team, participating in standups, sprint reviews, and planning activitiesFollow secure coding practices and support DevSecOps-aligned workflowsCollaborate across systems, hardware, and test engineering teamsMaintain documentation for reviews, audits, and configuration managementRequired Skill SetsFoundational knowledge in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Python, or Java) Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, and version control Familiarity with Linux environments or basic command-line operations Exposure to Agile development through coursework, internships, or projectsDesired Skill SetsHands-on project experience involving embedded systems, networking, or real-time software Experience with CI/CD concepts or tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar Exposure to DevSecOps concepts or secure coding practices Familiarity with automated testing frameworks Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially in multidisciplinary engineering environmentsEducation Level RequiredBachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related STEM field
