You will join a specialized team responsible for improving the performance, scalability, and quality of results (QOR) of AMD's FPGA implementation software, working with performance?critical systems used by customers worldwide.The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.Key responsibilities:Conduct research and development of novel algorithms for logic synthesis and optimizationDeliver multi-fold improvements in quality of results (QOR), runtime, and memory.Evaluate new FPGA architecture features and their impact on existing implementation tools.Modernize and extend mature C++ codebases by retiring legacy implementations and introducing new techniquesStay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architectureDesign and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologiesDebug/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same workDevelop technical relationships with peers and partnersPreferred experience:Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and optimizationSolid programming skills in C++Solid foundation in software engineering, with strong analytical and debugging skillsBackground in logic synthesis, RTL synthesis, EDA tools, compilers, or related optimization enginesExperience in working with multi-threaded / multi-process programsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, distributed engineering environment and take ownership of complex problemsAcademic credentials:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalentLocations: San Jose, CA (preferred), Austin, TX or Longmont, CO - Remote can be considered for the right candidateThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
