This role spans the full software development lifecycle and contributes directly to vehicle-level architecture, integration, and mission-critical capability delivery. Due to program requirements, this position is fully onsite.Responsibilities to AnticipateDesign, configure, and support a modern software development environment for documentation, code, and test artifactsDevelop embedded software and documentation across vehicle domains including board support, displays, power management, diagnostics, deployment, and lethalityPerform software requirements analysis and develop preliminary and detailed designs aligned with system architectureImplement software solutions in accordance with established engineering standards and proceduresDevelop and execute unit and functional test proceduresPerform hardware/software integration and debug issues across multiple test phasesIntegrate software releases across multiple CSCIs into vehicle-level releasesCollaborate with Systems Engineering, Project Management, Software Quality, and cross-functional engineering teamsLead Agile activities including daily scrums, PI planning, reviews, and retrospectivesProvide development status updates and support continuous improvement initiativesQualifications SoughtMaster's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline7–10+ years of experience in embedded or systems-level software engineeringProficiency with GIT/Bitbucket and development in C, C++, C#, Java, and PythonExperience working in mixed operating system environments (VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization, BSPs, GVOS)Knowledge of serial and network protocols (RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, UDP/IP)Experience with DDS, Kafka, or other publish/subscribe middlewareFamiliarity with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) architecturesExperience with NGVA and UKGVA data models and ground combat vehicle network architecturesUnderstanding of GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and FACE standardsHands-on experience using Agile development methodologies and toolsAdditional Desired ExperiencePrevious experience in the defense industryFamiliarity with Type 1/2 hypervisors and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of IoT concepts and distributed systemsExperience with Cameo Systems ModelerStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to support occasional evening or weekend work as program needs requireWhy Join CPICPI partners with leading defense programs to place engineers into long-term, high-impact roles supporting mission-critical systems.
