Software Engineer 3

Purpose and Impact:

Amentum is recruiting for a DevOps role in Hanover, MD with a focus on cyber security training delivery across multiple states. The team develops tailored, high quality software solutions for instructional staff and students, covering configuration, deployment, testing, and code delivery. The candidate should have software engineering, web application development, or DevOps experience and be self-starting.

Work Schedule:

The courses are active M-F. Core hours are . Flexibility on arrival/departure, with occasional support before or after course hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software for computer-based training
• Research, document, and test security solutions and concepts
• Support training development and operations
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to update course content and materials
• Advance and troubleshoot class management tools for delivery and grading
• Create and maintain virtualized systems to simulate real-world scenarios
• Model, simulate, and analyze systems
• Provide documentation and analyze program specifications
• Verify accuracy of programs through tests and debugging

Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Poly

Minimum Education:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with five years of experience, or Bachelor’s with ten years of experience, or other combinations as specified

Minimum Years of Experience:

• 5 years of software development experience; proficiency in languages such as Ruby, Java, C++, HTML/CSS/JS; experience with SQL/NoSQL; familiarity with Windows and Linux; agile methodologies

Required Certifications: Sec+ or equivalent
