Software Engineer 3The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.Typical day:Actively participate in daily and weekly Scrum ceremoniesDevelop solutions in Java, Python, SQL, or YAML based on User Story requirementsActively participate in on-line code reviews with peersLeverage CI/CD for delivery of workTechnical skills:5+ years of experience in Java development3+ years of experience in writing and deploying code in AWSProven experience in:Batch or stream processing systems such as Apache Spark, Flink, Akka, StormMessage brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMq, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache ActiveMQ, KinesisDatastores such as Redis and ElasticsearchCucumber as a testing tool and it’s integration into CI/CD pipelinesWorking within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum)Nice to have:3+ years of experience in Python, SQL, or Scala developmentSoft skills:Strong analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.Demonstrated strong problem solving and technical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
