Leading the Yahoo Mail Anti-Spam and Delivery engineering organization, the full-time Software Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for executing strategies to protect users from spam and ensure reliable message delivery, while managing multiple squads and fostering team health in a hybrid work environment. Key responsibilities Lead the engineering organization across multiple squads, ensuring execution, operations, and technical quality Define and drive strategies for systems that protect users from spam, phishing, and fraud while delivering billions of messages daily Translate business needs into clear technical plans, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes, collaborating with cross-functional teams Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale backend or distributed systems, including significant engineering management experience Proven ability to lead operations and strategy across multiple squads, delivering measurable business impact Strong technical depth in scalable distributed systems, service reliability, and performance-sensitive backend infrastructure Experience in email delivery, anti-spam, anti-abuse, or similarly complex internet-scale systems
