Software Development Engineer In Test (Sdet)Genesis10 is currently seeking a software development engineer in test (SDET) for a contract position with a global financial institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.We are seeking a highly technical SDET to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks that ensure our products remain robust as we scale.
You will act as a bridge between development and operations, embedding "quality-by-design" into our CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate loves writing code to solve testing challenges and is passionate about building scalable, high-performance software.Responsibilities:Framework Architecture: Design and develop modular, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks from the ground up using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium)Automation Development: Write production-quality code to automate end-to-end, integration, and performance tests, ensuring high test coverage across the stackPipeline Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing and rapid feedbackPerformance & Load Testing: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks by designing and executing load and stress tests for microservices and APIsWhite-Box Testing: Conduct deep-dive analysis by inspecting application logs, database queries, and system architectures to identify root causes of failuresShift-Left Quality: Collaborate with software developers during the design phase to identify potential edge cases and promote testable code architecturesInfrastructure Management: Manage test environments, including containerized setups (Docker/Kubernetes), to ensure stable, isolated testing conditionsRequirements:4+ years of experience in software development and/or automated testingProficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScriptStrong experience with automation frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTest, TestNG, Selenium, Playwright)Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar librariesAbility to write complex SQL queries for data verification and setupA strong "developer mindset"—you view testing as a software engineering problem to be solved with code, not just a series of manual stepsPay range: $49.15 - $57.15 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
