Our lean, high-impact team is looking for a collaborative and technically skilled Software Development Engineer to help drive innovation and operational improvements across our end-to-end business processes. In this role, you will apply deep technical knowledge, propose new ideas, and contribute to optimizing critical systems making a meaningful impact at the team and department level while continuing to grow your craft at Apple.As a Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to shaping our technical infrastructure and supporting operational excellence across our business processes. Bringing a thorough understanding of relevant technical concepts, you will exercise independence in solving problems, seek and integrate feedback effectively, and collaborate closely with teammates and cross-functional partners. This role is well suited for an engineer who is ready to take on growing ownership, propose process improvements, and deliver high-quality work with broad impact at the team and department level.Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for internal systems and toolsDiagnose system issues through log analysis and system diagnostics, exercising independent judgment in resolving technical problemsBuild and maintain data visualization dashboards using Tableau to support team decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve throughput, reliability, and efficiency of software tools and processes, and propose solutions to the teamContribute to complex technical projects from planning through delivery, supporting timelines and quality standardsCollaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, assisting teammates as needed and representing the team's work clearly to stakeholdersEscalate risks and blockers proactively, coming prepared with proposed solutionsDemonstrate growing awareness of organizational, technical, and program context to prioritize work appropriatelySupport the establishment and maintenance of operational efficiency standards across diagnostics, logistics, and infrastructure processesContribute to the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements and automation opportunities, with innovation that has a meaningful impact on the teamProvide technical guidance to internal partners and assist in coordinating operational workflowsShare knowledge with junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team environmentActively nurture professional relationships and build your internal network across teams3+ years of software development experience with demonstrated proficiency in PythonExperience in data collection, handling, and visualization, including tools such as TableauSolid understanding of networking fundamentals and content delivery networks (CDNs)Demonstrated ability to diagnose system issues through log analysis and system diagnosticsAbility to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements and automation solutionsStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesProven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, prioritize work, and integrate feedback constructivelyBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experienceExperience contributing to projects within a supply chain, logistics, or operations technology contextExperience with JavaScript (JSON) and SQLFamiliarity with agile development methodologiesExposure to enterprise systems such as SAP, Agile PLM, or MDMExperience authoring or contributing to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentationInterest in mentoring peers or junior team members and contributing to team knowledge sharingAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
