Software Development Engineer, AI & Data Platforms (AiDP)AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) is IS&T's engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data, application development, and machine learning — including generative AI — along with data services and customer success functions, to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption and embedding of generative AI across Apple. As a software engineer in AiDP data services team, you will work on building database managed services and data streaming platform that power some of Apple's most critical business use cases. You will collaborate with exceptional database engineering teams and internal stakeholders in building these solutions.We are looking for a passionate software engineer with experience in building data streaming or data centric solutions. We expect the candidate to influence platform tools, APIs and architecture.
This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams to deliver a best in class product in a dynamic environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign & Data services solutions: Develop and deploy large scale data services platformDevelop services: Develop API that offer foundational services of the data services platformCollaboration: Collaborate with a team of database engineers and architects to develop the servicesMinimum Qualifications2+ years of extensive professional experience with the Go or Java programming language.3+ years of software development experienceExperience in developing highly optimized SQLs, procedures for distributed data applications.BS in Computer Science, or similar degree or equivalent industry experiencePreferred QualificationsMS in Computer Science, or equivalent experienceWorks well in dynamic environments, collaborating effectively with many other teams across our organizationStrong programming in Golang, as you'll be working extensively with Go based systems, building both services and client softwareHands-on experience in designing and development of cloud-based applications that include compute services, database services, APIs to design RESTful/gRPC services, ETL, queues and notification services.Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerizationKnowledge in multi-threading, concurrency and parallelismHave written or contributed to a batch or realtime processing systemAble to quickly learn and adapt to new technologiesApple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
