Software Developer 2, Applications/Software DevelopmentPerforms moderately complex computer programming work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Information Technology Service Division. Writes or modifies existing application software programs based upon program specifications or verbal instruction with the objective of meeting agency needs in one or more agency divisions/units; may work on these assignments independently or as part of a team. Documents work and progress, tests and validates programs written or modified, correcting and/or revising as required. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Candidate Skills and QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.5 - Required - Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in analysis and development on business applications software.5 - Required - Experience in design and development of multi-tier applications in Java/J2EE technology (Java design patters, MVC, JSP, Javabeans, Servlets etc), Spring/Springboot framework.5 - Required - Experienced with designing SOA based architecture.

Working knowledge of XML, HTML, WSDL, Javascript, AJAX, JSF, JQuery, NodesJS5 - Required - Experience in Bash scripting3 - Required - Experience with SVN, GitHub, JIRA2 - Preferred - Advanced scripting skills2 - Preferred - Working knowledge of JCL2 - Preferred - Working knowledge of Natural/COBOL2 - Preferred - Knowledge of Maxenso2 - Preferred - Experience in working with Python scriptsTerms of ServiceServices are expected to start 05/03/2021 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2021. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 1040 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.Work Hours and LocationServices shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.

The primary work location(s) will be at 3800 Jackson Avenue, Austin, Texas 78731. Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the Candidate's and/or Vendor's expense. Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will provide pre-approved, written authorization for travel for any services to be performed away from the primary work location(s). Pre-approved travel expenses are limited to the rates and comply with the rules prescribed by the State of Texas for travel by its classified employees, including any requirement for original receipts.

The Candidate(s) may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and pre-approved through Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
