Deploying and tracking software updates across our fleet will play a crucial role in the reliability of our product and the success of our customers.The Software Deployment Operations Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments, while also helping to define how we continue to scale the software deployment process to meet the growing needs of the business.This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and well organized operations manager who enjoys supporting complex systems in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesAs a leader of the deployment team, you will:Oversee and manage software deployment requests to support ongoing operations as well as the commissioning of new power generatorsCollaborate cross-functionally to translate software release roadmaps and business objectives into long-range and capacity planning for software deployment techniciansUnderstand upcoming software changes and translate those into updated software deployment proceduresTrack and report software deployment progress and outcomes, including making periodic reports to leadership on key operating success metricsRefine deployment procedures and make recommendations on how to continuously improve the software deployment processEnsure that new software innovations and improvements are delivered to customersQualifications6+ years of experience and with 3+ years of management experience, including of remote employees and contractorsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceDriven and self-directed systems-thinker responsible for creating or improving effective engineering processesExcellent communicator with demonstrated collaboration across multidisciplinary teamsExperience working with embedded linux systems and distributed systemsKnowledge of software development and deployment principlesAbility to translate complexity into structured procedures for repeated executionAbility to coordinate across teamsExperience working in a dynamic engineering environment, where systems and processes are evolving rapidlyStrong understanding of electrical system concepts and components, a plusExperience working with Gitlab a plus$115,000 - $135,000 a year This position is onsite at our Menlo Park HQ. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee.
