Principal Consultant - Automation & Control Systems
A well-established building automation and consulting engineering firm in Pittsburgh is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS).
This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and work on technically challenging, high-impact projects including hospitals, data centers, laboratories, universities, and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities:
* Develop BAS software, databases, and custom graphics based on internal control drawings
* Conduct simulations and testing of software before deployment to field teams
* Collaborate with hardware engineering and field operations to ensure successful project execution
* Support onsite commissioning and assist with troubleshooting as needed
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards
* Manage multiple projects and ensure timely, quality delivery
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in BAS programming (required)
* Experience with platforms such as Niagara AX/N4, Reliable Controls, or American Automatrix (preferred)
* Background in BAS graphics, hardware engineering, or fieldwork (a plus)
* Experience with SQL databases (a plus)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
