Software Asset Procurement SpecialistLocation: Remote, USARole SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and Software Asset Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement of software assets while ensuring cost optimization, compliance, and alignment with IT and business requirements.
The role will partner closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and Vendor Management teams to drive effective software purchasing, contract governance, and lifecycle management.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingManage end-to-end procurement of software licenses, subscriptions, and SaaS solutions across the organizationEvaluate vendor proposals, negotiate pricing, and drive cost optimization initiativesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand software requirements and align procurement strategiesEnsure adherence to procurement policies, governance frameworks, and approval workflowsContract & Vendor ManagementReview and manage software contracts, including terms, conditions, and renewal clausesPartner with Legal and Vendor Management teams to mitigate contractual and compliance risksTrack vendor performance and ensure SLA adherenceDrive consolidation of vendors and licenses to optimize spendLicense Management & ComplianceWork closely with Software Asset Management (SAM) teams to maintain accurate license inventoryEnsure compliance with licensing agreements and regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR, audit readiness)Support internal and external audits by providing accurate procurement and licensing documentationIdentify risks related to over-licensing or under-licensing and drive corrective actionsRequired Qualifications5–10 years of experience in software procurement, IT sourcing, or asset managementStrong understanding of software licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, SaaS-based licensing)Experience with procurement tools (SAP Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow, etc.)Knowledge of contract negotiation and vendor management practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience in Software Asset Management (SAM) or IT Asset Management (ITAM)Familiarity with compliance/regulatory environments (e.g., ITAR, SOX, internal audits)
