Onsite Full Time Software Architecture & Engineering

Operating under minimal supervision, the Software Architect leads all software development lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, architectural definition, design, implementation, and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Software Manager for Architecture and Platforms, the successful candidate will:

  • Architectural Leadership: Define and oversee the software architecture for a major product line, ensuring the consistent use of common platforms, design patterns, and technologies across multiple products.
  • Technical Governance: Lead code and design reviews to guarantee reliability, performance, and compliance with quality control standards.
  • Documentation & Strategy: Own all software functional requirements and design specification documents, including architecture diagrams.
  • Innovation & Research: Drive technical research and proof-of-concept development to vet new ideas and integrate modern industry technologies into next-generation products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate technical aspects with Team Leads, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters. Align development efforts across various global R&D technology centers.
  • Hands-on Development: Strategically participate in writing complex pieces of software and troubleshooting critical, high-level issues.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15–17 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 10–15 years with a Master’s degree.
  • Proven track record of managing and driving product development efforts.
  • Core Technical Mastery: Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, C#, .NET, Angular, and Python.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Leadership & Project Management: Strong ability to align engineering teams with the product vision, assist leadership with performance management, and handle basic project scheduling/WBS formulation.
  • Operating Systems & Infrastructure: Deep understanding of Linux, including kernel, device drivers, networking and filesystems, with experience using Docker, VMs, Yocto, CMake, and shell scripting.
  • Architecture Styles: Solid grasp of distributed architectures, including microservices, messaging, and embedded protocols.
  • Cybersecurity: In-depth knowledge of threat modeling and SELinux.
  • Industry Niches — Highly Desired:
  • Medical device software development, including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and 21 CFR Part 820.30.
  • Embedded systems, specifically motor control domains.
