Job Summary:

The Social Worker is responsible for performing psychosocial services including assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and abuse reporting. Coordinates discharge care needs under the general direction of the physician, and in conjunction with the treatment team and may lead process and education groups. MSW's must obtain BBS number through the Board of Behavioral Sciences and ensure that it is current. MSW's must maintain clinical educational supervision as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences as well as fulfill any additional requirements from the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

  • Maintains positive and proactive communication with patients, families, staff members, and physicians.
  • Fosters team-building relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to problem solve are essential.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) provider card
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) through BBS
  • License Eligible (must attain license within 5 years of hire)
  • Must obtain clinical supervision as required through the BBS

Education:

  • Master's in social work.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred with focus on crisis intervention and rapid stabilization. Competent in infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric developmental stages, substance abuse, terminal illness, and mental health experience preferred.
