The Masters Social Worker is responsible for performing social work assessments and interventions as needed for hospitalized and emergency department patients. The functions of the Masters Social Worker include: crisis intervention, patient/family intervention, high-risk screening, brief counseling, referrals for financial or other identified resource needs, arrange and facilitate family/patient representative meetings with the health care team as needed, arrange post-acute placement on complex discharges and engagement of appropriate agencies or community resources when high-risk patients are identified.
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Master's degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social
- Work Education 1-Year Post-MSW experience or Social Work internship in a clinical or medical setting.
- Minimum 3-Year Post-MSW healthcare experience (Preferred)
- Initial social work licensure or higher as required by state law, e.g. - LMSW in Iowa - LMSW in Nevada - ACSW in California
This PRN social worker does case management and works a variety of days, including weekends (usually from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm). Prior hospital social case mangement experience is required for this PRN position. Candidates are required to possess a LSW or LCSW in Colorado.
