Aravaipa Running Social Media ManagerThis is a full-time, in-person position based in Phoenix, AZ. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate prior to start date.About the RoleThe Social Media Manager owns the day-to-day execution of Aravaipa Running's social media presence. Working directly with the Director of Marketing, this person is responsible for content creation, community engagement, and race day coverage across our Arizona race portfolio.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.Race coverage is a significant part of this job. You will be on-site at 16 events throughout the year, often starting before sunrise. The content you capture and publish in real time is one of the most visible things Aravaipa puts into the world.What You'll DoSocial Media ManagementOwn day-to-day publishing across Aravaipa Running's core social media accountsPlan and schedule content in alignment with the campaign calendar set by the Director of MarketingEngage with the community by responding to comments, DMs, and tags in a timely and authentic wayMonitor incoming messages for customer service needs and route them to the right personFlag partnership, sponsorship, and collaboration inquiries to the Director of MarketingTrack performance and bring insights and recommendations to regular check-insContent CreationShoot, edit, and publish short-form video optimized for each platformCapture photography at races and events for use across social, email, and other channelsWrite copy for posts, captions, and social-first contentMaintain a consistent visual and tonal identity across all contentRace Day CoverageThis role attends and produces social content at the following 16 race weekends throughout the year:Black Canyon UltrasCocodona 250Coldwater HundredJavelina JundredWhiskey BasinCrown King ScrambleCopper CorridorFlagstaff Sky PeaksAcross The YearsMogollon MonsterDesert Runner Trail Series Events: Cave Creek Thriller / Thrasher Night Trail, Pass Mountain / Punisher Night Trail, McDowell Mountain Frenzy / Mayhem Night Trail, Elephant Mountain, Mesquite Canyon, Dam Good RunBrand and Campaign AlignmentExecute content within brand guidelines and campaign frameworks set by the Director of MarketingParticipate in regular check-ins to align on priorities, campaigns, and upcoming launchesAssist with content planning for major moments including Golden Ticket races, registration opens, and seasonal campaignsPerformance and LearningShare a monthly performance summary covering what worked, what did not, and whyStay current on platform updates, content trends, and emerging formatsBring new ideas and platform insights into regular team check-insWhat We're Looking ForRequired1 to 3 years managing social media accounts for a brand, organization, or public figure, or an equivalent body of demonstrated workStrong short-form video skills including shooting, editing, and publishing for Instagram Reels and TikTokSolid photography skills including comfort shooting outdoors and in low-light conditionsProficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Edits, or equivalentProficiency with Canva or equivalentClear, confident writing ability for captions and social copyFamiliarity with Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling or analytics toolsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independentlyAvailable to work 16 race weekends per year with early morning start timesGenuine involvement in the trail running, ultrarunning, or broader endurance sports communityPhoenix-based or willing to relocate before start dateA portfolio of social media content you have created and publishedPreferredExperience coordinating content with freelancers or contractorsFamiliarity with livestream production or event media coverageExperience working with outdoor, endurance, or lifestyle brandsCompensation and BenefitsBase salary: $50,000 to $53,000, depending on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offComplimentary entries to Aravaipa Running eventsComp time provided following race weekendsSchedule and Physical RequirementsThis role involves 16 race weekends per year.
