Social Content Development SpecialistThe Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) is seeking a Creative Content Development Copywriter to support statewide initiatives focused on the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) and supplemental science resources aligned with Tennessee's revised science standards.The selected consultant will lead the development and implementation of a cohesive design and content framework for K–2 supplemental science instructional units. This role will ensure that educational materials are visually engaging, accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with TDOE branding and instructional goals.The consultant will collaborate with curriculum teams, project leaders, and stakeholders to prepare instructional materials for statewide release while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and maintaining consistency across all deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a state-approved design framework for K–2 supplemental science instructional materials.Apply branding, formatting, and design standards across existing and newly developed instructional units.Collaborate with curriculum and content teams to enhance instructional resources and educator-facing materials.Ensure all materials comply with state and federal accessibility (ADA) requirements.Provide graphic design and document production support for academic initiatives and related projects.Maintain consistency with TDOE branding, style guides, and visual standards.Support the development, review, and publication of educational content and digital resources.Assist with quality assurance and final preparation of materials for statewide distribution.Required QualificationsAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Advanced experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro.Strong background in graphic design, branding, digital marketing, or visual communications.Experience with Canva and Adobe InDesign.Knowledge of accessibility standards and ADA compliance requirements for digital and print materials.Ability to follow branding standards, style guides, and content governance processes.Excellent written communication, editing, and content development skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting K–12 education initiatives.Familiarity with science curriculum or instructional content development.Experience creating educator-facing resources, training materials, or curriculum guides.Knowledge of educational publishing and instructional design best practices.
