Snowmaking ForemanSun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Snowmaking Foreman to lead daily snowmaking operations and support year-round maintenance of the snowmaking system on Bald and Dollar Mountains. This role is responsible for supervising team members, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and maintaining system performance across both winter production and summer maintenance seasons. The Snowmaking Foreman works closely with Mountain Operations leadership to support high-quality snow surfaces and overall mountain readiness.Duties & Responsibilities:Supervise daily snowmaking operations, including system start-up, shutdown, and production monitoringLead and support a team of snowmaking staff, providing direction, training, and ongoing coachingPerform and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs on snowmaking equipment and infrastructureTroubleshoot system issues during both winter operations and summer maintenanceMonitor and manage inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readinessMaintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of snowmaking facilities and work areasPromote and enforce a safety-first culture in all aspects of workCollaborate with Mountain Operations and other departments to support overall resort operationsAssist Department Manager with hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, and employee developmentSupport planning efforts, including maintenance scheduling, project work, and operational improvementsAttend department meetings and assist in communicating operational updatesPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:Valid U.S.

driver's license requiredPrevious experience with automated snowmaking systems preferredStrong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tools, equipment, and safe work practicesProven leadership or supervisory experience in a mountain operations or similar environmentDemonstrated experience supporting and promoting safety initiativesAbility to serve as a positive influence and role model for team membersAbility to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and overnight shiftsStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsProficiency with basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office or similar programsEngage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reachingCan safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
