Snowmaker Level 3

Level 3 SnowmakerAs a Level 3 Snowmaker, you will be taking on a leadership position on the mountain and be accountable for the efficient and productive operation out on the hill. This includes training snowmakers, performing basic maintenance, and taking on a positive attitude to motivate fellow teammates. In the absence of a supervisor, you may need to take on supervisory duties.

This is a very complex position and requires intense commitment and a diverse skill set.Schedule availability: 6:45 AM - 7 PM (day) or 6:45 PM - 7 AM (grave). Weekdays, weekends, holidays. Overtime required.

Hours are weather dependent.ResponsibilitiesAll responsibilities of a Level 2 SnowmakerOffer continual training and assistance on standard operational and safety practices to Level 1 & 2 SnowmakersLead the crew in trail set upBe able to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions and breakdowns of snowmaking equipmentAssist in charging, maintaining, and blowing down of snowmaking systemsOperate snowmobiles, UTVs and other equipment safely and efficientlyPerform general maintenance pre-operations checks on equipmentTrain team members in the adjustment, operation, and troubleshooting of snow guns so they are producing the most cost effective and highest quality snow possibleBe willing to learn mechanical skills, including the understanding of hydrants, valves, water lines and other snowmaking system componentsSet examples and reinforce positive motivation for the teamBe willing to help in other departments during peak periodsRespect all team members and maintain a positive attitude throughout the shiftComplete other duties as assigned by management or supervisor with a positive attitudeQualificationsQualified applicants must be at least 18 years old3+ years of snowmaking experience preferredValid driver's license and no restrictionsMust be able to communicate fluently in EnglishBe able to lift, bend, kneel, and carry up to 75 lbs.Able to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusionsAble to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-pressure environmentSelf-motivatedFlexible with hours and days of workKnowledge of temperature fluctuation, weather, and other atmospheric conditions' effect on snowmaking, and the ability to adjust quickly to those changing environmentsAble to work in harsh winter conditions with extremes of temperature, wind, and precipitation for extended period outdoors in an alpine environmentCompensation & BenefitsWages range from $24 -$26 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancementTeam Member Perks includeSeason Passes for self and dependentsResort discounts for retail, dining, lessons, rentals, lodging and spaAccess to other Boyne ResortsGear allowance for full-time Team MembersEligibility for affordable Team housing
