This specialized team is responsible for making large volumes of high-quality snow on the trails and is in charge of maintaining snow guns, waterlines, hydrants and high pressure pumps. You must be safety conscious and able to hike and work in extreme weather conditions. This is a demanding job, but it offers reward in the pride of the product we produce.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Snowmakers will run snowmaking equipment for creating manufactured snow from water resources for slope side useConduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking water pipes, fluid levels and volume, temperature controls, energy consumption, and diesel fuel systemsDocument and report mechanical and safety issuesComplete maintenance logs and checklistsPerform light maintenance or repairs on equipmentMonitor water resources and reservoirs at resort and total energy usageQualificationsBasic Qualifications:Must have basic mechanical skills.
Training is providedWork in the outdoors in extreme cold3 months of manual labor experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Learn and understand snowmaking systems and the mountain layoutSet up, operate and maintain snowmaking equipmentBe attentive to staff and guest safetyAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsMust have ability to carry, push, pull and lift up to 75lbsMust be able to wear hard-shell mountaineering boots and walk up and down ski trails.Typical week includes 4 - 12 hour shifts and overnight shifts.
