SparkFun offers an abundance of opportunities to learn new skills from other Funions, in addition to many other benefits and perks.Essential Job FunctionsThe primary responsibility of the PCBA/SMT Assembly Technician is to test, rework and assemble circuit boards with an emphasis on high quality & efficiency.1.

Assemble & rework circuit boardsReceive daily batches from Lead Final Assembly Technician or Board Assembly ManagerHandle all assembly & rework stages of the build process, including:Ability to use board assembly equipment, like, soldering iron, reflow oven, board washer, hot air station, depanelizer, & Hakko FM206-DSS Rework StationHand solder, both PTH(plated through hole) and SMD(surface mount device), components efficientlyRead and understand a BOM(bill of materials) for initial assessment of the build & trouble-shootingInspect & identify errors on all components used in our board population2. Test circuit boards:Utilizing the internal ERP system, follow written test procedures to test full functionality of most assembliesWhen applicable, utilize a general understanding of electronics to perform "visual inspection" of boards to identify errors3. Quality control inspection of all completed batches:Follow established procedures to ensure functional circuit boards are being completed in the build process, including 25% and 100% inspection of completed circuit boardsDocument and deliver erroneous boards, and communicate potential course of action4.

Maintain an organized & clean work space:Keep workstation, inventory, & all other Board Assembly areas clean & organizedParticipate in monthly warehouse cleaningCheck emails multiple times throughout the day
