Small Press Set-Up Operator IILocation: Saint Paul, MNType: Full-timeWhat You'll Be Doing:As a Small Press Set-Up Operator II, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality stamped parts that meet customer specifications. You'll independently set up and operate presses, perform quality inspections, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing operations.A Day in the Life:Read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and work instructionsIndependently set up and operate small presses to achieve quality parts and maximum production efficiencySet up basic tooling and prepare presses for production runsStage all required materials so production can begin without delayConduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify material specificationsLearn to perform root cause analysis on die or press issues and coordinate with toolroom and maintenance for repairsAssist in identifying opportunities for process improvements that enhance quality and efficiencyInspect materials and finished parts for defects and verify compliance with specificationsIdentify and label materials accurately using tags or labelsPerform routine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work areaCapture and document work instructions to ensure consistent setups and production runsAccurately enter production and quality data into the company data collection systemFollow all established safety procedures and compliance guidelinesWork collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and delivery deadlinesPerform other related duties as assignedYou're a Great Fit If You:Have knowledge of punch press operation and die settingCan read and interpret intermediate-level blueprintsAre highly detail-oriented with strong inspection and quality skillsCan troubleshoot production and equipment issues effectivelyManage time efficiently to meet production deadlinesCommunicate clearly with team members and other departmentsValue teamwork and collaboration in a manufacturing environmentPrioritize safety, quality, and continuous improvementEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred1+ year of experience in metal fabrication or related workPress operation experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to see and hear with vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustmentFrequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and operating equipmentPhysical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus during long shiftsAbility to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbsWhy Work With Us?Join a team-focused manufacturing environment where your contributions directly impact product quality and customer satisfaction.
