Job OverviewOperate small commercial mowers and perform a variety of trimming, edging, blowing and chainsaw work to maintain clean, safe and attractive facility grounds.ResponsibilitiesEssential job Duties:Operate small commercial mowers to cut and maintain turf areas with consistent qualityUse string trimmers maintain edges, fence lines, around obstacles, and hard to reach areas.Operate edgers to create clean, defined borders along sidewalks, driveways, curbing and landscaped areas.Use backpack or handheld blowers to clear debris from sidewalks, driveways, patios and work areasInspect equipment before and after use, report and document mechanical or safety issuesOperate Chainsaws for tree/limb removal, brush clearing, and storm cleanup, following best practice felling and bucking techniquesProvide support as required in grounds maintenance areas, Such as spring and fall mulch placement, Tree trimming and debris removal.All other duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.Employees are required to:Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely.Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions; andHelp the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.Job RequirementsMandatory:High school graduate or GED equivalent.Must be able to drive a truck and possess a valid driver's license.Five years' related experience in grounds maintenance and operations functions.Be responsible for all activities required for safe, efficient operations within the grounds crew.Physical Requirements:Wear PPE gear as required (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, etc)DisclosuresChugach Government Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
