Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Board Certified or Residency Trained Veterinary Internist to join our team. The role involves providing high‑quality veterinary care, communicating with clients, and working closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
  • Client communication and education
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
  • Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications (Required)

  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
  • 1‑year rotational internship in small‑animal medicine, surgery, or emergency/critical care
  • Completed a 3‑year AVMA‑approved residency program
  • Current State Veterinary License
  • DEA registration
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Team‑oriented work style
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care
  • Efficient communication with medical and hospital staff
  • Client communication skills, including rapport building and information elicitation
  • Confidence and reassurance with stressed or painful patients
  • Physical ability for tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Board Certification
  • 2–5 years of experience post‑residency
  • Advanced clinical skills across cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopaedic, neurological exams and treatment prescription
  • Problem‑solving skills for managing a high‑quality veterinary hospital
  • Effective communication of diagnostics and therapies to clients and staff
  • Professionalism and constructive feedback within a high‑quality team
  • Business acumen for understanding hospital management and finances
  • Understanding of ethical principles guiding patient decisions
  • Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of others’ learning

Pay Range: $250,000 – $300,000 USD
