Job TitleSlitter OperatorJob DescriptionShift: Night Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 2/2/3 rotating schedule Pay Rate: $20.00 Shift Premium: $1.00Position Overview The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the Deacro Slitter to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible through the use of effective manufacturing methods. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality as set out in daily management, and conserve raw materials and suppliesSet up and operate the slitter and supporting equipment according to SOC and as scheduled by management promptlyResponsible for doing scheduled PM machine maintenance and troubleshooting, in case of failure, and make repairs as directed, advise management of major problems, and seek aid from the maintenance personnel as required for major maintenanceUsed the procedures outlined in the Deacro & LB manuals, perform nip roller, idler roller, and other changes as neededCross-train as backup laminator operator and assist in changeovers to assure completion promptly with quality productPerform all normal running adjustments to the equipment as required and aligned to the SOC to produce the product to specification; accurately record all changesWork independently to assist in managing critical spare parts inventories and rebuilding partsEnter all required quality supporting data to plant databaseFill out daily management board before the end of every shiftPrepare non-conformance material and package suitably for return to supplierResponsible for applying the correct LPN label to the rolls of slit filmSchedule and scan all raw materials through the Oracle WMS platformSchedule packaging materials and supplies to the machine from the warehouseRemove finished product or unused materials from the slitter area to the warehouse drop area as neededEnsure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is quarantined and reported to the Shift Leader.

Samples along with a complete non-conformance form are to be submitted to the Quality DepartmentMaintain Forklift Truck certificationWork as a valuable team member throughout the production room to accomplish the business goals: Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the lineAssist in the training of other personnel in proper maintenance, operation, and set-up of equipment according to approved company proceduresMaintain good housekeeping and a 5S work areaQualifications RequiredHigh school diploma.
