Slitter OperatorA metal company near Midway area is seeking a Slitter Operator. The Slitter Operator is responsible for all aspects of setup, operation and quality control of the large and small slitter machines in the Chicago Plant. They will be expected to setup knives/spacers, over and under arms, operate overhead crane, slit aluminum and steel, and perform quality checks in accordance with standard procedures and expectations.Pay Rate - $21-24 an hour.Hours - Monday- Friday 6:00am-2:30pm.Where: Near 47th & Central, SW Chicago, ILKey Result AreasGroup and prioritize slitting orders to maximize efficiency and throughputKeep Grid and Metal Ceilings stocked with slit coils to support production needsComplete 5S tasks throughout the slitter areaKey Responsibilities & Job ContentOperate the slitter to support both Grid, Metal Ceilings, and engineering seeds:Operate Forklift in accordance with Plant rulesUsing the crane to unload trucks and load coils onto the slitterPerform setups for knives and over/under arms accurately and in a timely fashionPerform QC checks on all in coming full coils, and slit coilsEmptying slitter scrap containersSafely unload coils from slitter onto skids or racksHelp in other areas of the plant if the slitter is down for repair or not scheduled to run.Job QualificationsThis position requires the ability to self-manage time, prioritize orders, and pay close attention to detail.The position requires the employee to lift and move coils with an overhead crane.

The candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs and be on their feet for 8 hours straight.At Least 1-2 years experience in a factory setting, operating slitter machinery.SAP experience preferredAbility to be forklift certifiedTo ApplySend your resume to with SLITTER OPERATOR in the Subject
