Apply now!Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:Set up and configure press brake machines for production by selecting, installing, and aligning appropriate dies, punches, and tooling based on job specifications and material requirementsAdjust machine settings, including tonnage, stroke depth, back gauges, and ram positioning, to ensure accurate bend angles, dimensions, and repeatability across production runsOperate a variety of metal forming equipment, including hydraulic press brakes, mechanical power presses, and apron brakes, in accordance with technical drawings, work orders, and safety standardsRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine proper machine setup, bend sequences, tooling selection, and production methodsInstall, align, and secure tools, dies, gauges, and fixtures using precision measuring instruments, shims, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and functionPerform first-piece inspections and ongoing in-process quality checks to verify dimensions, tolerances, bend angles, and part consistency using micrometers, calipers, templates, squares, and scalesIdentify and correct defects such as improper bends, warping, or material inconsistencies by making necessary adjustments to tooling, setup, or machine parametersPlan and execute efficient production sequences by understanding material types, thickness, grain direction, and forming limitations to minimize scrap and maximize productivityMonitor machine performance throughout operation, making real-time adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and adherence to production timelinesPerform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection of tooling, and tightening components to ensure optimal machine performance and longevityTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions or inconsistencies, identifying root causes and coordinating with maintenance personnel when necessary to minimize downtimeMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards, ensuring tools, materials, and finished parts are properly stored and handledFollow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), machine guards, and lockout/tagout procedures when performing setups or maintenance tasksRequirements for Press Brake Operator:Ability to read basic measurements, use hand tools, and learn to interpret blueprints and technical instructionsStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work performedAbility to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced production environmentComfortable with routine lifting, material handling, and physical work, including frequent lifting of parts and materials and occasional lifting of up to 50 poundsDependable attendance and ability to work on-site as required to support production schedulesStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and make minor adjustments independentlyWillingness to follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment at all timesQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
