Mechanical Forge Press OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Forging Press Operator for a direct hire opportunity in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for operating mechanical forging presses, setting up tooling, monitoring production, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have prior forging press experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced forge shop environment.Mechanical Forge Press Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Operate mechanical forging presses safely and efficientlyLoad raw materials and feed metal bars into induction and rotary furnacesSet up, align, and secure dies, punches, and toolingAdjust machine settings, including stroke, pressure, and cycle speedMonitor production runs to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standardsPerform first-article and in-process inspectionsMeasure parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring toolsVerify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirementsTroubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report larger maintenance needsPerform basic preventive maintenance, including cleaning and lubricationMaintain accurate production, quality, and downtime recordsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work areaMechanical Forge Press Operator Requirements:Experience operating mechanical forging presses (non-hydraulic)Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on industrial equipment experienceKnowledge of dies, punches, tooling, and press setupAbility to read production instructions and basic drawingsExperience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devicesAbility to identify and respond to quality, production, and safety concernsComfortable working in a heavy industrial or forge shop environmentReliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safetyAbility to work overtime as neededPreferred experience operating medium to large tonnage mechanical presses ton)Preferred experience with induction furnaces, rotary furnaces, or trimming operationsPreferred experience with robotic systems, preferably FanucPreferred forklift or material handling experiencePreferred background in forging, steel manufacturing, flange manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environmentsFrequent standing and walking throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands for operating machinery and measuring partsAbility to lift and move materials up to 50 poundsAbility to work in high-temperature manufacturing environmentsGood hand-eye coordination and attention to detailCompensation & Benefits:Monthly production bonus potential up to $450Weekly payConsistent work schedule and steady hoursPaid lunch for employees with good attendanceReferral bonus programCompetitive health insurance options
