Job TitleIn collaboration with other Field Leadership and under the supervision of the Department Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of field staff within the plumbing trades, and coordinating fabrication for the assigned Project(s).Market ExperienceExtensive market experience and technical knowledge in Plumbing and Process Piping systems. Proven experience on large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and high-tech construction projects, including:High-rise buildingsData CentersHealthcare facilitiesSchools and universitiesHotels and resortsMixed-use developmentsIndustrial and manufacturing facilitiesInstitutional facilities (universities, airports, government buildings)Experience managing plumbing scopes ranging from $5M–$100M+, with the ability to lead field crews of 20–100+ plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors.Strong understanding of mission-critical and complex project environments including data centers, Central Utility Plants, healthcare, industrial/process facilities, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projects, with direct experience supporting fabrication operations, shop production teams, and prefabrication programs while ensuring quality, productivity, safety, and schedule performance across all phases of fabrication and field installation.Supervises:General Forepersons, Forepersons, Journeypersons, Apprentices, Tradespersons, and Trainees.Lead and oversee all hydronics field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goalsOperations Assist direct reports with Resource managementProper team selection including assignment of ForepersonsProject execution strategies and schedulingWeekly project progress, health and safety reportsHelp to provide resolution of issues, challenges and obstaclesExecution of QA/QC protocolsImplementation of Safety Department's protocolsImplementation of corporate policies and proceduresPlanning for successful project installationParticipation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetingsAttend jobsite meetings and provide input to the GC and PMReview project documents to determine the proper staffing requirementsSet goals and expectations for field personnel and detailers. Drive the job!Continuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest levelApproach project with shop fabrication and pre-fabrication assemblies in mindMonitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standardsSchedule/coordinate all labor and site activities to ensure project expectations are met and executed with a high level of productivity, quality and safety.Schedule and coordinate all material deliveries with the project detailing team, shop fabrications Managers and third-party vendors.Review and track project labor budgetsEngage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputesKnowledge of current building and mechanical codeCoordinate and assist with problem solving strategies with the Project Manager when issues arise.Order tools and equipment required to complete the projectVerify equipment prior to delivery/rig dayCoordinate with other ACCO departments, vendors and both internal and external subcontractorsSchedule and coordinate inspectionsProcess required project documents and put into proper box foldersStrong understanding of the Local Unions Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Department Manager or upper ManagementStrategic Planning Understand and support the project(s) strategic plan and goalsEnsure adoption and implementation of standard processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and efficiency across field operationsIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations (ie: installations, materials, equipment, personnel)Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all field personnel in an effort to mitigate risk and reduce liabilityPersonnel Management Adhere to and promote company policiesInstill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the departmentMentor, train and develop top performing leaders (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid any gaps in strong leadershipCoordinate labor requests and reductions with the local union labor hallsCollaboration Create and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locationsParticipate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectivesWork closely with Project Managers and PE's on the assigned project(s) regarding ConstructabilityResource availabilityLabor budgetsProject execution opportunitiesPotential project challengesCollaborate with other field supervisors and share experience to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resourcesPosition Requirements(Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.)Strong industry knowledgeExcellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethicEffective communicator at all levels of the businessExperience and deep understanding of the related trades (sheet metal, controls, air balance) and general fabrication practices12+ years of experience in Construction leading projectsMember of the local sheet metal union in good standingExperience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizesProficient in English.Valid driver's license and a clean driving recordSkilled in reading and interpreting plans and specificationsKnowledge of:local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sitesAdditional Skills/Abilities Preferred, but Not Required:Member/affiliate of local apprenticeship training programsDegree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architectureExperience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizationsSoftware experience:CRM/PM Platforms: BidtracerCollaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, PlanGridDesign/Detailing: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks)Spooling:
