We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital investments at our Pasadena manufacturing site—supporting initiatives that are central to our operational excellence and long-term growth.This role offers the opportunity to own and deliver high-impact capital projects in a complex chemical manufacturing environment, working alongside a collaborative team of engineering, operations, and site leadership.The OpportunityAs a Project Manager, you will serve as the single point of accountability for delivering capital projects from concept through commissioning. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives—while influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving disciplined project performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead capital projects of varying size and complexity from concept development through commissioningDeliver projects that meet or exceed safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectivesDefine project scope, objectives, and success criteria in partnership with engineering, operations, and site leadershipDevelop and execute comprehensive project plans, including cost estimates, schedules, and resource requirementsDrive project performance, including cost forecasting, schedule management, and risk mitigationServe as the primary project leader, aligning cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to drive decisionsOversee engineering design, technical deliverables, and vendor performance to ensure quality executionManage contractors and coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activitiesLead bid package development, contractor selection, and contracting strategiesManage scope changes through structured change management processesEnsure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company project controlsChampion constructability, value improvement, and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience leading capital projects in manufacturing, industrial, or plant environmentsProven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence diverse stakeholdersStrong understanding of project controls, including cost forecasting and schedule managementExperience with risk management processes (e.g., risk registers, HAZOP/PHA integration)Working knowledge of process safety management (PSM), MOC, and regulatory requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environmentsBackground in front-end loading (FEL) and stage-gate project developmentFamiliarity with SAP Project Systems (PS) or similar project management toolsExperience managing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractorsAbility to develop and evaluate project business casesBenefits of Joining AlbemarleCompetitive compensationComprehensive benefits packageA diverse array of resources to support you professionally and personally.We are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
