Gray Construction is looking to add a Site Manager I, Commissioning to their Field Operations Team. This traveling, field based position.

Responsibilities

  • Must have general knowledge of all building trades and specific knowledge of either the mechanical, piping or electrical trades.
  • Oversee Commissioning Specialist and APM Commissioning staff and provide training for employee career advancement.
  • Assist in developing commissioning scope.
  • Review Subcontractor Exhibit A scope of work for commissioning to ensure commissioning scope is included and adequate for the project needs.
  • Assist in the training of site teams and subcontractors in the use of CxAlloy Commissioning database.
  • Assist in writing commissioning plans.
  • Assist in the development of Commissioning database for projects, set up commissioning checklists, provide user access permissions to database, develop systems list, room lists, equipment lists from design documents, and submittal data and import data into database. Manage database for project.
  • Perform commissioning audits on project sites to determine performance of commissioning activities of the site team resources and sub-contractors.
  • Generate commissioning status reports for each discipline and provide site team and subcontractors feedback on deficiencies.
  • Responsible for commissioning and overseeing installation of various equipment and systems on site, ensuring products work according to specifications and meet client’s needs. Oversees all disciplines.
  • Manage and execute commissioning checklists and equipment status in the commissioning database.
  • Engage subcontractors to provide startup reports, test reports, IOMs, spare parts lists.
  • Lead on site commissioning meetings with site team and subcontractor resources.
  • Work with site team to assist in developing commissioning schedule.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and lead discussions on roles and responsibilities for commissioning.
  • Be on site for equipment verification during delivery, inspect for damage, and ensure receiving checklists are performed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university; and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize CxAlloy, word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications. May also require working knowledge of scheduling applications.
  • Experience as the lead project manager or commissioning manager of a construction project is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, construction management, or architecture).
  • Must have experience managing all disciplines for commissioning projects.
  • Must have experience in setting up at least two CxAlloy commissioning databases for all disciplines.
  • Must have assisted in and maintained written commissioning plans on at least two projects.

Generally, a normal office environment with moderate noise and controlled temperature/humidity. While on site, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather. The site may involve high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise project support team members, as well as subcontractors.
