Job Summary

The Site Manager provides general quality guidance to all managers and supervisors in accordance with the Quality manual. Provide essential training and resources. Solicit input from the Production Control Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Quality Manager to improve quality and make sound decisions regarding quality issues. Ensure the GAA Quality System is established, implemented, improved, and maintained to the current revision status at other GAA facilities. The Site Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the facility and equipment. The Site Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower.

  • Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility.
  • Plan and schedule all distribution services, including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities, to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules. Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.
  • Make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations.
  • Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards. Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards. Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update as necessary.
  • Direct the operations of warehouse supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives. Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development. Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, and create programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline subordinates.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked up and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels. Develop and implement an effective receiving operation that minimizes cost and ensures receiving paperwork is processed accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets, revenue analysis, and account analyses. Ensure accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.
  • Report on the performance of the quality system for management review. Assist with audits. Submit budgetary information to track and control expenditures. Ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property. Promote continuous improvement of the quality philosophy.
  • Responsible for day-to-day quality decisions regarding products on the floor and ongoing maintenance of failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA).
  • Initiate actions to prevent and stop the production of non-conforming products. Recommend improvements for plant processes, equipment, and facilities to improve overall product quality. Issue Quality Alerts and Bulletins to appropriate departments when necessary. Protect and communicate the customers’ quality standards. Act as Customer Service Representative for quality and perform problem-solving and corrective-action analysis reporting. Regularly report on the performance of the quality system for management review. Assist with audits. Ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property.
