Site Care Technician
The Department of Facilities and Construction Management is accepting applications for a Site Care Technician. A Site Care Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and health of the University grounds, including lawns, gardens and other landscapes.
Examples of duties include:
- Operating power mowers, blowers and edgers.
- Planting, fertilizing, watering, trimming and pruning shrubs, trees and flowers.
- Spraying for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.
- Performing minor maintenance/repair on equipment and tools as required.
- Keeping all related equipment clean, maintained and stored properly.
- May assist other groundskeeping crew or personnel as directed by supervisor.
- Performing other duties as needed.
Typical qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Candidate must have 1-3 years' experience in landscaping, groundskeeping or in a related field.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more and meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Must have a valid Mississippi Driver's license.
- Candidate must have a willingness to perform grounds maintenance and groundskeeping for the upkeep of the University grounds.
