What we do is bigger than construction – it is about connecting communities, building new roads to the future, and keeping the spirit of the pioneers alive and well.Job Summary: Responsible for operation of a fixed or mobile asphalt plantMain Responsibilities:Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesSupports the Simon safety culture and other Company initiativesCoordinates and ensures safe operation of plant and componentsProvides direction and mentorship to plant ground crew and equipment operators related to daily operations of plantAdjusts manual and computer-aided controls and/or or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating rangesUse computer system to enter and maintain data, handle dispatch schedule, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondenceAssists internal and external customers with orderingOptimally communicates with customers and drivers in person, over the phone, and on company radio channelsReviews and processes orders ensure accurate material mixes are being delivered; prepares invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documentsEnsures adequate material and supplies are on-hand to meet plant production goalsVisually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubricationAssists with general housekeeping and plant maintenance including repair and replacement of valves, motors, bearings, gaskets, shafts, gauges, etc.; climbs tank ladders to read gauges and/or perform maintenance tasksMaintains accurate operational, inspection, and maintenance recordsCompletes and submits daily production reportsCoordinates tear down, transfer and re-assembly of mobile plant (if applicable)Travels to job site/mobile plant site locations as necessarySafely operates company equipment, tooling, and vehiclesEducation: High school diploma or equivalentValid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; commercial license preferredSkills:3-5 years of experience in asphalt operations and/or construction industry preferred1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role preferredAbility to interact professionally with internal and external customers and establish relationshipsSelf-directed, hard-working, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidanceAbility to lead and empower othersAbility to effectively prioritize, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlinesBasic computer skills, including use of MS Office productsPhysical Requirements:Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredOccasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile deviceRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuityFrequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlStanding/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain; may require some work performed from heights of 50' or moreFrequent exposure to loud noiseRegularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particlesRegularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicalsBenefits and Perks:Choice of 3 Medical Plan OptionsPrescription Drug CoverageDental and Vision PlansFlexible Spending Account or Health Savings OptionsAccess to Telemedicine and Healthcare Advocacy ServicesPaid Parental LeaveEmployee Assistance ProgramLife and AD&D InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid Time Off and Paid Holidays401(k) Savings Plan with Company MatchProduct and Service Group Discount ProgramsApplication window anticipated to close on 9/24/2026; open until filled.
