Silicon Diagnostics Profiling Engineer

In this position, you will perform test profiling and execution of next-generation high-performance Microprocessor designs. We're searching for candidates who hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree, love technical challenges, and are natural problem solvers. Key responsibilities include profiling and improving the manufacturing and characterization test programs to validate the next-generation AMD CPU family. Test infrastructure and activity may encompass areas including hardware, software, diagnostics, margin testing, and profiling of the test programs for the CPU.
Key responsibilities:
- Hardware Experience:
- Assemble and maintain validation platforms: Swap in CPUs, Memory, PCie Card, Flash Bios, and burn OS onto NMVE / SATA drives.
- Move Systems as needed
- Use the AMD internal tools and third-party tools to profile the test programs and publish the profiling data in standard reporting format
- Produce reports from Automation and other data to accelerate the debug failures/defects
- Scripting:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell (Bash), Python, Ruby
- Experience in working in a Linux environment
- Capable of editing scripts under the direction of a manager or technical lead. Prefer candidates with experience to develop new features per defined requirements
- Full-time in the Austin Lab. No opportunity for remote work.
- Preferred skill: understanding of C++, X86 assembly, willing to learn and grow
