Shop TechnicianTX-BRYAN - Bryan, TX 77803OverviewPosition Type Full Time Category ManufacturingDescriptionPosition SummaryThe gas lift shop technician is responsible for inspecting, preparation, documentation, and inventory management of all equipment used in field operations. This position ensures all inventory is inspected, documented, and properly set up for field operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. The shop also provides support for general shop hand activities and assists operations as required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety and Quality ComplianceFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and work practices at all times.Comply with all quality standards, inspection requirements, and operational procedures established by the organization.Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, equipment deficiencies, or quality concerns to management.Inspection and Quality ControlInspect all new and used equipment received by the shop.Evaluate gas lift equipment for damage, corrosion, wear, or other defects that may affect performance.Perform visual and dimensional inspections in accordance with company procedures.Complete all required inspection, testing, and quality documentation for new and used line inventory.Ensure all inspection records are accurate, complete, and properly maintained for traceability purposes.Assist with pressure testing and other verification processes as required.PreparationEfficiently and accurately set up gas lift valves according to each job designHydro test and drift all equipmentTighten and test other equipment required for field operationsInventory ManagementReceive in and count all incoming equipmentProperly organize all equipment in designated locationsHelp maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper tracking of all assetsAssist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities as requiredShop and Operational SupportAssist with loading, unloading, moving equipment, and materials.Support field operations by preparing equipment and materials for upcoming jobs.Perform routine shop maintenance and housekeeping duties.Operate forklifts and other shop equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.Assist with additional shop, maintenance, and operational tasks as assigned by management.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in oilfield operations, manufacturing, or shop environments preferred.Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, and inspection equipment.Ability to accurately complete inspection, testing, and inventory documentation.Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and materials.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Key Performance ExpectationsConsistent compliance with all company safety and quality standards.Accurate completion of setting up equipment, inspections, testing, and documentation.Proper identification, tagging, and tracking of inventory.Maintenance of an organized, efficient, and safe shop environment.Timely support of operational and field service requirements.QualificationsRequired: Able to lift 85lbs regularlyRequired: At least 18 years of age & have at least 2 years of solid working experienceRequired: Ability to work 8+ hours per shiftRequired: Ability to work full time and have great attendanceRequired: The basic mechanical abilityRequired: Pass Drug ScreenRequired: Courteous and positive attitude, as well as have a sense of urgency, drive, pride, and desire to succeedRequired: Safety & Quality minded, detailed oriented, and have basic math and computer skillsRequired: Ability to read and take direction in EnglishPreferred: Forklift Experience – responsible for operating a forklift to load/unload materials from trucks.
