Shipping AssociateThe Shipping Associate prepares fully assembled outbound equipment for shipment by securely shrink-wrapping products, performing final quality checks, and safely moving equipment within an open bay warehouse using material handling equipment. This role supports efficient shipping and receiving operations, including operating forklifts and handling incoming inventory.ResponsibilitiesReview daily work orders and organize tasks to meet shipping schedules and priorities.Apply shrink wrap around fully assembled outbound equipment and use a heat gun to ensure a strong, secure hold.Use a ladder when necessary to safely reach the top of larger equipment for complete wrapping coverage.Perform final quality checks before wrapping, confirming there are no paint scuffs and that all required stickers and labels are properly applied and visible.Operate a pallet jack to move equipment throughout the warehouse and position items for wrapping, staging, and loading.Operate a forklift to move equipment around the facility, including loading and unloading materials and finished products.Support receiving activities by using a forklift to unload, move, and stage new inventory in designated areas.Handle materials safely and efficiently, following established procedures and guidelines.Assist with basic inventory handling tasks as needed to support shipping and receiving operations.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including wrapping stations and equipment storage areas.Follow all safety protocols when using ladders, heat guns, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding order status, equipment issues, or any discrepancies noticed during final quality checks.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with material handling in a warehouse or production environment.Proven experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently.Background in the final steps of shipments, including preparing and securing products for outbound delivery.Experience working as a shipping or receiving clerk or in a similar shipping-focused role.Ability to perform final quality checks, including inspecting for paint scuffs and verifying correct placement of stickers and labels.Capability to use a pallet jack to move and position equipment.Comfort working at height using a ladder to wrap taller equipment safely.Ability to use a heat gun safely to secure shrink wrap around equipment.Experience handling inventory and supporting receiving operations.Familiarity with warehouse production workflows and shipping processes.Attention to detail and a strong focus on product quality and presentation.Ability to follow safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with overhead crane operations in a shipping, warehouse, or production environment.Previous work in an open bay or warehouse production setting.Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.Reliability and consistency in meeting daily work order requirements and shipping deadlines.Willingness to ask questions and seek additional details during training and interviews to fully understand expectations.Why Work Here?This is a family-owned organization operating in a brand-new facility that values recognition, flexibility, and long-term growth. Work hours are flexible, allowing some adaptability to individual scheduling needs, while still supporting operational requirements.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
