Shipping Assembler - 1st ShiftEaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Shipping Assembler - 1st Shift at our Oakleys Ct location in Richmond, VA. The hourly rate for this position is $19.47 per hour. You will be responsible for ensuring that the units (RPP, STS, PDU, XFMR) are assembled correctly, inspected for quality, and then packaged in a way that protects them during transit. In this function you will:Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assembliesFollow detailed instructions, blueprints, or schematics to put together components into finished goods, often in manufacturing or production environmentsBe responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assemblyCreate shipping labels, invoices, and other documentation needed for outgoing shipmentsUse various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair productInspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goalsAdhere to company, environmental, health, safety rules and regulationsProvide process and safety improvement ideasEnsure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.

Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitationPreferred Qualifications:Experience in production, packaging or construction, or equivalent educationPrevious experience with standard operating proceduresPrevious experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repairBasic working knowledge and experience with computersSkills:Position Success Criteria:Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facilityAbility to read and interpret standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams and bills of materialAbility to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as neededAbility to lift, push and pull 50 lbsAbility to use a crane once fully trained to lift itemsAbility to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this positionAbility to use hand tools and other machines to manipulate metal and or wire
