SharePoint Admin

Our client is looking for a SharePoint Admin to own the architecture, taxonomy, and information structure of its SharePoint environment. This is a hands-on role serving as the subject matter expert for SharePoint information architecture, managed metadata, content classification, search, and document lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SharePoint and Microsoft 365, with the ability to design scalable information architectures, improve content discoverability, automate document workflows, and establish standards for enterprise-wide content management.

Responsibilities

• Own the SharePoint information architecture, including site structures, content types, column schemas, libraries, and navigation.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for SharePoint architecture and development patterns, including SPFx, CSOM, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph API.
• Define and maintain standards for SharePoint site provisioning, structure, and content organization.
• Design and manage templated site provisioning processes, ensuring the appropriate structure, metadata, and taxonomy are applied during site creation.
• Develop and optimize document classification processes using rules-based tagging, filename and path analysis, Microsoft classification capabilities, and other intelligent classification techniques.
• Maintain documentation, technical standards, procedures, and governance practices related to SharePoint architecture, taxonomy, classification, and lifecycle management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SharePoint architecture, information architecture, and enterprise content management
• Expert-level experience with SharePoint Online, including site architecture, content types, column schemas, libraries, and information structures.
• Experience configuring and optimizing SharePoint Search, including refiners, search verticals, query rules, and PnP Search.
• SharePoint migration, consolidation, or re-architecture using tools such as ShareGate, Metalogix, or comparable platforms.
• Experience preparing enterprise content for AI-powered search, semantic indexing, Microsoft Copilot, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) use cases.

Compensation:

• $130,000-140,000
• Bonus
