THE CLUB

The Acorn Club, located in the scenic Rittenhouse Square district of Philadelphia, exists for the “promotion of literary, musical and artistic tastes and for social enjoyments and such other kindred purposes as the Club may from time to time determine.” With a talented staff, premier dining and a full schedule of social programming, The Acorn Club has established itself as an elegant private women's club.

The Acorn Club is open from September to June, Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch, and Thursday and Friday for dinner. Member-focused dinners, lecture and receptions, as well as private events are scheduled throughout the week, and occasionally on weekends.

JOB POSITING

A dynamic professional who provides visible and hands on leadership that will help take the already successful operations and services to the next level. Jointly responsible with the Food and Beverage Supervisor and Food and Beverage Director for service, functions, and the finished look of dining spaces. This position will act as a server during assigned meal periods and have some supervising/leadership roles during assigned events and when working with a team.

Overview of Essential Responsibilities:

• · Establish a warm welcoming and professional atmosphere to all members and their guests as well as to your fellow employees.
  · Works as part of a team to set-up, serve and breakdown events using correct F & B techniques.
  · Ability to use the POS for all a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinners with little to no assistance.
  · Attention to detail. Specifically in use of props and appropriately sized linen to set tables
  · Great time management skills to ensure that rooms are set completely 15 minutes prior to the start of any meal period.
  · Ability to take any appropriate food orders in a specific trained manner (must know position numbers) and follow a la carte procedures for the Acorn Club service of lunch, and dinner.
  · Ability to memorize a menu and have extensive knowledge of the Acorn Club menu and be able to answer questions as well as provide suggestions to members/guests.
  · Extensive knowledge of the Acorn Club wine, cocktail, beer, and beverage options and be able to answer questions as well as provide suggestions to members/guests.
  · Confidence to respond to members’ requests and involve your supervisor if needed.
  · Positive attitude. Refrain from non-job related and negative chatter on the floor.
  · Cleanliness. Clear soiled glasses, flatware and chinaware in all areas, rack them into appropriate racks/bins in the pantries. Maintain a clean working area at all times. Complete necessary cleaning and sanitizing functions; this includes daily, weekly, and monthly duties.
  · Attend all regularly scheduled meetings, training sessions, and employee evaluations.
  · Abide by the uniform and grooming standards of the department.
  · Abide by and enforce all policies and procedures set by the management team.
  · Performs all other functions as required by management.

Hours: Variable, days and evenings, occasional weekends as needed
