About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hospitality-driven server who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume New York City environment. The ideal candidate brings a deep passion for Italian/american cuisine and wine, a polished sense of service, and the ability to connect genuinely with guests and teammates alike. Character matters as much as experience, we want people who love what they do.
What Makes a Strong Candidate
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a comparable NYC restaurant (Italian/american, or neighborhood concept strongly preferred)
- Stable work history, consistent employment of 6–12+ months per role demonstrates reliability and commitment
- Experience at a well-regarded restaurant in NYC or another major city (LA, Chicago, Miami, SF)
- Familiarity with Italian/american cuisine, seasonal ingredients, and Italian/american wine, beer and spirits
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Toast, Resy
- Clear understanding of steps of service
- History of growth and responsibility: trainer, lead server, opening/closing duties, or event service
Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service throughout the full dining experience
- Guide guests through food and beverage menus with confidence and enthusiasm
- Communicate proactively with kitchen staff, management, and fellow team members
- Maintain cleanliness and proper setup of your section before, during, and after service
- Handle opening and/or closing duties as assigned
- Support a team-first culture on the floor at all times
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and food and beverage pairing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage high-volume service without compromising quality
- Attention to detail, time management, and composure under pressure
- Positive attitude and genuine passion for hospitality
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend continuously for extended periods
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $17.00 + tips
