Cariño | Uptown Chicago
Cariño is a Michelin-starred modern Mexican tasting-menu restaurant in Uptown Chicago. We’re looking for a server who is excited by thoughtful, detail-driven hospitality and wants to help deliver a distinctive tasting-menu experience from the first welcome to the final course.
What you’ll do
- Guide guests through a multi-course tasting menu, explaining each dish’s ingredients, techniques, and inspiration
- Maintain the pacing and flow of service in close coordination with the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Speak confidently about Mexican ingredients, regional traditions, and Cariño’s approach to modern Mexican cuisine
- Support beverage service, including wine, cocktails, and pairings
- Anticipate guest needs and respond thoughtfully to dietary restrictions and special requests
- Keep the dining room polished and complete opening, service, and closing responsibilities
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful team culture
What we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in food, hospitality, and the details of a tasting-menu experience
- Strong communication skills and a warm, composed presence with guests
- Attention to timing, accuracy, and the small details that make service feel seamless
- Reliability and comfort working evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fine-dining or tasting-menu experience is preferred
- Knowledge of wine, cocktails, or Mexican ingredients is a plus
- Spanish language skills are a plus
