Server

Rule of Thirds   is seeking experienced, hospitality-drive servers to join our team.  We are a high-volume Japanese izakaya and event venue in Greenpoint, focused on thoughtful service, strong food and beverage knowledge, and creating a vibrant, energetic dining experience for our guests. If you have a talent for warm hospitality, a genuine curiosity about food and beverage, and an inner drive to hustle in a large and dynamic venue, we would love to hear from you!

At Rule of Thirds, servers are responsible for owning the full guest experience from start to finish. This includes managing a section with precision, maintaining strong awareness of pacing and table needs, confidently communicating food and beverage information, and ensuring every guest feels guided, cared for, and engaged throughout their experience. Equally important is a commitment to teamwork and accountability. Servers are expected to support the flow of service, anticipate needs, and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented dining room.

Skills and Requirements: 

• Minimum of 2 years experience serving in a full service restaurant 
• A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality 
• Careful attention to detail
• Strong sense of urgency 
• Strong food and beverage knowledge (Japanese cuisine and sake knowledge a plus) 
• Weekend availability required 
• The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
• Kneel, bend, or stoop; be on feet for extended periods of time
