We are looking for a sharp, proactive, and fast-moving Server Assistant to join our front-of-house team. In an upscale steakhouse, the Server Assistant is the ultimate floor general. You are the backbone of the dining room—working in tandem with servers to ensure that tables are turned efficiently, water and bread are seamless, and the physical dining space remains immaculate. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, thrives in a high-intensity environment, and uses their speed and anticipation to elevate the guest experience.
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Front of House Manager / Shift Supervisor
Core ResponsibilitiesThe Flawless Reset: Clear and bust tables dynamically as guests finish courses. Clean, sanitize, and reset tables according to strict fine-dining standards, ensuring perfectly polished glassware, straight silverware, and fresh linens.
Pacing & Support: Anticipate guest and server needs. Automatically refill water, serve bread, replenish ice, and deliver extra side plates or clean steak knives ahead of the next course.
Table Pre-Bussing: Remove empty cocktail glasses, appetizer plates, and used steak boards efficiently, ensuring guests never feel crowded by dirty dishes.
Food & Beverage Running: Assist in running heavy hot plates, side dishes, and trays from the kitchen expo line to the tables, ensuring food lands in front of the guest piping hot.
Dining Room Polish: Maintain the overall appearance of the dining room floor. Instantly sweep up crumbs, wipe down spills, and keep service stations fully stocked with ice, linens, and polished silverware.
Experience: Previous experience as a busser, food runner, or server assistant in a fast-paced or upscale restaurant is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
Anticipation & Awareness: An intuitive ability to scan a room, see what a table needs (e.g., a missing steak knife or a low water glass), and execute the solution without being asked.
Physical Stamina & Speed: Ability to lift and carry heavy loaded trays (up to 40 lbs), walk and move quickly for long shifts of 6 to 8 hours, and handle hot plates safely.
Communication: Clear, polite verbal communication skills to interact effortlessly with guests, managers, and the kitchen line.
Team First Mindset: A high-energy, positive attitude. You take pride in making your teammates' shifts run smoother.
